Justice Electric Company has proudly served Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the surrounding areas since 1961. Founded by Vyrl Justice, the company began as a small, locally trusted electrical contractor focused on honest work and quality service. Vyrl's commitment to excellence laid the foundation for what would become a multi-generational family business rooted in integrity and craftsmanship.
In the second generation, Vyrl’s son Dave Justice took the helm, expanding the company’s reach while maintaining its core values of reliability, professionalism, and strong customer relationships. Under Dave’s leadership, Justice Electric became a respected name across Linn County for both residential and commercial electrical work. Today, Joe Justice—the third generation—serves as President and General Manager, continuing the family tradition of delivering top-tier electrical services with a modern approach. Joe has led the company into new areas such as energy efficiency, LED upgrades, and advanced project management, all while preserving the hands-on customer service and attention to detail that Justice Electric is known for. For over 60 years, three generations of the Justice family have proudly powered the homes and businesses of Eastern Iowa—and we’re just getting started.

As a third-generation, family-owned company based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, we’ve proudly served homeowners and businesses across Eastern Iowa since 1961. We specialize in both residential and commercial electrical services, including panel upgrades, complete rewiring, energy-efficient LED lighting, and new construction projects. Joe Justice brings over three decades of hands-on experience and leadership to Justice Electric Company. A licensed Journeyman and Electrical Contractor, Joe joined the company’s management team in 1990 after attending Kirkwood Community College. He has continued his professional development through programs at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), including Estimating School and Project Management School, as well as the University of Wisconsin Estimating School.
As President and General Manager, Joe oversees day-to-day operations and leads the Justice Electric Safety Program, personally conducting regular safety meetings with employees to ensure compliance and promote jobsite safety.
Joe is an active member of the Cedar Rapids Division of NECA, where he also serves as Chairman of the Safety Committee. His dedication to workplace safety and local business extends to his involvement with the Cedar Rapids Round Table Safety Group and the Cedar Rapids Daybreak Rotary.
